  • Did you know that over 1 million flights are delayed for over 3 hours
  • Did you know that you could claim upto £540 in compensation

Why was my flight delayed?

Flights delays occur all the time for a wide variety of reasons including aeroplane breakdowns, lack of flight crew, airlines strikes, incoming flight delays, baggage handling issues and of course THE WEATHER. But none of these are valid reasons that an airline can refuse to pay you compensation for your flight delay regardless of what they have told you. Airlines have a duty of care to their passengers and the EU Regulation 261/2004 sets out a series of rules airlines must adhere to and a recommended level of flight delay compensation.

Can i claim for my flight delay?

Under EU rules airlines have a duty of care to their passengers and the EU Regulation 261/2004 sets out a series of rules airlines must adhere to and a recommended level of flight delay compensation. In order to claim for a flight delay your flight must fit the following rules:

  • Your flight was delayed by over 3 hours
  • Your flight delay was in the last 6 years

If you can answer YES to all of these questions then you may be entitled to flight delay compensation.
